Mohamed Salah insists his personal accolades are irrelevant as he praised the steady improvements at Liverpool.

The Egyptian was named the club's Player of the Month in February, a period in which the Reds claimed wins in the league and Europe.

Jurgen Klopp's men have endured a poor run of form, but ended a spell of four straight losses at Sheffield United.

Liverpool also saw off RB Leipzig in the first-leg of their last 16 clash, with Salah netting in a 2-0 win.

The forward has been slammed for "selfish" play this term, but played a crucial role as his side progressed into the last eight and won their last league game at Wolves.

Their prolific frontman, who is again top scorer, insists their fortunes are "going to be better" and is targeting Champions League success.

He told Liverpool's  official website  on the back of being named their Player of the Month for February: "It's a nice feeling to be winning it again.

"It's a good feeling and I'm happy about our last results, so hopefully we can just keep winning.

"It's tough for all of us because of the situation we have been through and our position in the Premier League, but I believe it's going to be better. In the Champions League we are doing good.

"I don't want to just talk about my season because we play as a team, so I'd say it's a tough season for all of us and we just need to carry on and try to win games.

"I just want to say thank you very much for voting for me.

"We're going to give our 100 per cent to win the next few games and hopefully we can do that and do good also in the Champions League."

Liverpool have been handed a heavyweight tie against Real Madrid in the quarter-finals.

Their recent league win has also reignited their top four hopes, although they remain five points off Chelsea in fourth.
