It means Morelos incurs an automatic one-match ban which will be served when Rangers play their as yet unannounced opening post-split league game on April 10 or 11.
It will be a third domestic suspension of the season for the 24-year-old who broke his Old Firm scoring duck in Sunday's 1-1 draw with his 16th goal of the campaign.
Morelos was handed a retrospective two-match ban for a clash with Dundee United defender Mark Connolly in December, then received a three-match suspension in similar circumstances in February following an incident with Hibs defender Ryan Porteous at Easter Road.
