Sky Sports journalist Ben Grounds has been sharing his thoughts on Tottenham Hotspur winger Gareth Bale and his current run of form for the north London club.
This comes after Grounds recently made an appearance on a recent episode of The Sky Sports Football Podcast where he spoke about a range of topics concerning Jose Mourinho's side, including their upcoming Premier League clash against Arsenal at the weekend.
On the subject of Bale, who made an appearance as a second-half substitute during Spurs recent 2-0 win over Dinamo Zagreb in the Europa League, and his recent run of form, Grounds had this to say on the matter.
He said: "It's taken a little bit longer than those fans and onlookers expected in terms of him getting back up to speed, but maybe that just kind of shows you just how difficult it was for him at Real Madrid to rediscover not just his form, but just that confidence.
"You saw it again on Thursday night, he came off the bench for the last 20 minutes or so, and there was a real arrogance and swagger to his performance.
"Tottenham were going through a little bit of a lull in the game and Jose decided to make a triple substitution, one of which was Bale, and within a matter of moments, he put a gorgeous cross with the outside of his left boot and that really just demonstrates the amount of confidence that's running through his veins."
Since Bale arrived at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium back in September on a season-long loan deal from Spanish club Real Madrid, the Welshman, who is currently valued at £18 million, has made 23 appearances for Spurs across all competitions, scoring 10 goals and providing three assists in the process (per Transfermarkt).

Earlier in the season, Bale only managed to score one goal in his first seven appearances for the club in the Premier League, having been in and out of the team.
Taking into account how Bale has managed to score four goals and provide two assists in his four previous Premier League appearances for Spurs, it would make sense, in our view, that Bale would find himself in the starting XI to face Arsenal at the weekend to give his side the best chance of winning the game and continuing his decent run of form.
