Married At First Sight's experts watch the explosive dinner parties from a secret room during filming.

But as the trio stared intently at a monitor that was feeding them a live feed of the drama on Wednesday's episode, something was amiss.

An awkward editing fail seemingly provided proof that the three experts may actually film their reactions long after the party is over.

Sitting at a table in an adjoining room within MAFS' secret Sydney warehouse, viewers are made to believe the experts are watching the cast in real time.

With a small TV monitor in front of them, the experts -  Mel Schilling, Alessandra Rampolla and John Aiken - were seen reacting and commenting on the drama.

However, eagle-eyed fans noticed something strange as the cast broke away mid-party to speak with producers for their pieces to camera.

Many stars filmed their thoughts on the dinner party within the exact same room that the experts were supposed to be occupying.

Destroyed this illusion, footage cut back and forward throughout the evening of the experts and the cast members in various places in the room.

A unique, angular bookcase and textured grey wall made it easily identifiable to spot the apparent mistake.

In 2019, MAFS' executive producer Tara McWilliams said: 'It's important to understand that the expert's role consists of three parts: the matchmaking of the couples, observing the dinner parties, providing relationship advice at the commitment ceremonies and any private couples counselling if required.

'They aren't present during any filming outside of these weekly events, including the weddings and honeymoons,' she added.
