Home and Away star Sarah Roberts has revealed she's asked for Willow Harris' relationship with Alex Neilson to be revisited.

Willow and Alex (played by Zoe Ventoura) started dating in 2019, but their relationship came to an end when Alex landed a new job away from Summer Bay. She left by herself after Willow had concerns about whether things were happening too quickly between them.

The pairing was popular among viewers, and in a new interview with Stuff.co.nz, Sarah shared that she has pitched for Alex to return.

"I wanted people who aren't usually represented on television to be represented, and then when we heard from fans what a great job we were doing, [Zoe and I] were just so thrilled," she said of the characters' relationship.

"We never thought we'd have that kind of response.

"[Willow]'s had a rough ride when it comes to love, but everyone in the Bay has. I mean, you get married in the morning and divorced in the evening.

"I went to the producer and the writer again, and asked if Alex could come back and just tap Willow on the shoulder and then they could just drive off into the sunset together. But I guess you've got to wait and see what happens."

Willow has had a dramatic past few months. She was revealed to be Witness X and testified against Colby Thorne, before fleeing Summer Bay in the aftermath.

Willow returned on Australian screens a couple of weeks ago.

Home and Away airs weekdays at 1.15pm and 6pm on Channel 5 (UK) and Mondays to Thursdays at 7pm on Channel 7 (Australia). Selected classic episodes are available via Amazon Prime Video in the UK.
