Loose Women 's Judi Love has opened up on a horror experience of being attacked while walking alone at night, and said it changed how she behaved forever.

"As a grown woman, I do comedy and there are times I travel quite late by myself in my area, and there was one particular night, the guy was on the other side of the road, I was on the main high road," she said.

"And I saw him pull his cap down and run towards me, and in that 30 seconds, my car was round the corner, and I was like, 'Should I run to my car?"

"But I thought if I run to my car I am in a dark space, so I just stood and took him straight on, he grabbed my hand and I thought, 'He is gonna mug me.'

"So I just started to have a conversation, 'Is this what you wanna do? Is this what you wanna do? Take what you are going to take.

"And he just looked me in my eye, I don't know what it was, and he just threw my hand down and walked off, it wasn't until afterwards I thought, 'Oh my gosh, that really happened.'"

Judi explained the incident affected the way she behaved forever, saying: "I don't walk late, I always text somebody.

"Thinking about it makes me a bit shaky," she added.

Charlene White also spoke about her own experience of feeling unsafe, and of being catcalled before she was even a teenager.

"I think over the last 24 hours, a lot of men realised the checklist women have to go through on a daily basis," she said.

"If I am out at night, years ago when I would go out with my friends, two of us have to make sure we get in a taxi, one of us gets out, the other one has to make sure that they are on the phone continuously to make sure they get home safely.

"It's not getting in a train carriage by yourself, not getting on the top of the bus when you're the only person, making sure you're not walking down dark alleys.

"I was catcalled probably for the very time aged 11 or 12, when I was starting secondary school, and you have about 30 seconds to work out, if I say no to this person are they going to be okay with that?

"Are they going to start yelling at me, how do I stop them shouting at me? Should I give them a fake number, should I take their number?

"We shouldn't just talk to women about their behaviour, we should talk to men about what they are doing to make us feel safer on the streets."
