Thomas Morstead has been with the New Orleans Saints for his entire career. The punter was cut recently after 12 seasons in the Big Easy.

He posted an emotional message to the fans and people of New Orleans that the team released Wednesday.

His wife also had a hand in an idea a couple of days ago on her husband's 35th birthday. Go to LoveForTheLeg.com to contribute.

Morstead went from playing on a winless team in his final season at SMU to being the punter on the Super Bowl champion Saints. Oh, he also had a pretty famous role in that victory over the Indianapolis Colts.

Remember the onside kick to open the second half?
