Meghan Markle's friend Janina Gavankar has warned that more truths regarding her and Prince Harry's time within the Royal Family will come out.

The American actress, who has starred on shows such as Arrow and True Blood, appeared on ITV's This Morning to speak to Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's Oprah Winfrey interview.

When asked about Buckingham Palace's response to the tell-all chat, 40 year old Janina said: "After reading this short statement that came out from Buckingham Palace today, I thought two things - on one side I thought that I'm so thankful that they are finally acknowledging the experience."

Janina, who claimed she's been friends with 39 year old Meghan for 17 years, went on to insist the Royal Family knew the "extent" of Prince Harry's wife's mental health struggles.

She claimed: "But on the other side, I know that the family and the staff were well aware of the extent of it and while their recollections may vary ours don't because we lived through it with them and there are many emails and texts to support that."

Phillip, 58, then asked: "Are you saying that the whole family and the whole staff knew that there was a woman within the palace walls who was deeply struggling?"

She replied: "I don't know who knew, I know that the family and the staff knew."

Janina was then asked whether she knows if any more truths will come out as a result of the bombshell interview, to which she responded: "Yes, I feel that we are in a new era."

Clearly getting quite fed up by the awkward atmosphere during the interview, 40 year old Holly's co-host Philip said he "didn't know what her role was" doing the interview about her friend.

Janina kept a wide grin on her face throughout her time on air, which left viewers commenting on Twitter. One person said: "#thismorning Who is this woman who has come on the show and said absolutely nothing ? What is the point of giving her airtime for goodness sake."

Another wrote:"#ThisMorning Well @thismorning that should get an award for the most awkward pointless interview with the most obnoxious person ever! #Meghanssocalledfriend." [sic]
