Going for a walk in the fresh air has become a cherished treat in lockdown.

So it's no surprise that the pandemic has made house-buyers think about moving to a home with stunning countryside views.

Research obtained by Purplebricks suggests that more than one in three of Greater Manchester buyers are now looking for green spaces nearby when it comes to the properties they are considering as their next home.

Despite people looking to access to more green space, data also suggests Mancunians still prefer living within six to 10 miles of the city centre.

Alex Beswick, Purplebricks' Territory Operator for Manchester says there has been a 'shift' over the past year in priorities.

"There has definitely been a shift as they seek properties which are close to open countryside but also commutable to the city centre," he said.

"People increasingly want to see open space and if possible larger gardens as they have been spending more time at home."

Alex says areas such as Saddleworth, Marple Bridge and parts of Bolton which have the countryside on their doorstep are proving to be very popular.

With this in mind, we've taken a look at some of best properties in Greater Manchester that come with panoramic views of the open countryside.
