Michael Keane believes avoiding injuries will be a 'big thing' as Everton look to secure European football next season.

The Blues are serious contenders for a top four spot after three consecutive Premier League victories and face Chelsea - one point and one place ahead of them in the table - at Stamford Bridge on Monday.

Carlo Ancelotti has lost Allan, James Rodriguez and Dominic Calvert-Lewin to injury in recent months while Yerry Mina, Jean-Philippe Gbamin, Tom Davies, Seamus Coleman and Fabian Delph all missed the win at West Bromwich Albion on Thursday.

Everton have a minimum of 13 matches to navigate in the final two months of the campaign - including the FA Cup quarter-final against Manchester City - and Keane is hoping Everton manager Ancelotti has a full stable to select from.

The centre-back said: "We have to try and keep everybody fit, I think that's a big thing. We need the squad to be as fit as possible because of how thick and fast the games are coming.

"We believe we've got a chance of pushing for the top four. We are in-and-around it at the minute and there is no reason we can't stay there. Our main aim is to get into Europe and just doing that, to get in the Europa League, isn't going to be easy.

"There are teams in ninth place who aren't that far away so we need to be on it for these last 12 games."
