Jamie Redknapp has warned struggling Brighton that their impressive style of play will only be rewarded with Premier League survival if they can 'find a way of winning ugly'.

Albion endured a third successive single-goal defeat at home to Leicester on Saturday, stretching their winless league run to five matches and leaving the Seagulls three points above third-bottom Fulham, who play their game in hand at Liverpool on Sunday.

Ex-England midfielder Redknapp told Sky Sports: 'They're so lovely to watch, they're a joy. But they've got to find a way of winning ugly right now, otherwise the likes of Fulham, hot on their tail and picking up good results, are going to catch them.

'As a goal scorer, you'd love to play in this team. The chances they create through [Alexis] Mac Allister and [Leandro] Trossard, [Pascal] Gross - they create so many opportunities for the forwards.

'They shouldn't be in a position where they're three points above the relegation zone. They beat Liverpool and Tottenham at home and you thought, "this is a team that's going to get to midtable security, enjoy their football."

'But for some reason they're still in this fight and they've got to find a way of getting results.'

Adam Lallana gave Graham Potter's technically-gifted side a 10th-minute lead against the Foxes before Kelechi Iheanacho showed the ruthlessness that Brighton have often lacked this season with a classy second-half equaliser.

Daniel Amartey then headed the winner three minutes from time to consign the hosts to another defeat in spite of a fine display.

The result made Albion's six-match unbeaten run in the Premier League earlier this year, including those victories over Spurs and Liverpool and a win at Leeds, seem a distant memory ahead of two crucial fixtures.

Redknapp said: 'They play too good a style of football to go down but right now I do fear for them.'

'They've got some huge games coming up - a local derby against Southampton away, Newcastle at home feels like such a huge game for them as well.

'Right now, the next two games are huge in the context of their season. They've got to find a way of getting something next week.

'[Southampton top scorer] Danny Ings picked up an injury today, [there's a question over] whether he'll be fit. Newcastle at home is huge, not just for Steve Bruce but for Brighton.'
