The performer, who has been replaced by Oti Mabuse on The Masked Singer's spin-off show, is busy filming The Voice Australia and has not been pictured with the French director since November.

The pair began dating back in 2019, after Rita, 30, split from her songwriter boyfriend Andrew Watt.

During their time together, the former couple enjoyed trips to stunning locations such as Ibiza and Corfu.

In october 2020, the two sparked rumours they were engaged after the former X Factor judge was spotted with a huge ring on her engagement finger.

A source told the publication: "Rita and Romain tried to make it work but they both agreed it wasn't meant to be.

"They remain close but it was simply impossible to maintain a relationship where they barely saw each other.

"And given both their busy schedules for 2021, the writing was very much on the wall towards the end of last year."

It was previously reported in January that the pair were struggling with being apart from one another during lockdown.

An insider told The Sun: "They are struggling being apart from each other. It's difficult not knowing when restrictions will ease.

"Things between them have also been under a lot of strain after the controversy over her Covid party and all the criticism she got.

"It feels as if they are on the rocks," the source explained.

The songwriter, who reportedly lost 200K followers, drew criticism after hosting a birthday party for herself during lockdown at a restuarant in Notting Hill.

Police were called to the premises and Rita later apologised and offered to pay any fine for breaching rules.
