Covid vaccines have offered a conceivable way out of the pandemic, with each candidate boasting success rates of 90 percent and over. But none of them would have any effect on the UK's case rate without willing participants. Thankfully, the latest data suggests Brits are happy to do their bit for the vaccine effort.

Coverage by age group

Statistics from the NHS, which tracks the number of vaccines administered every week, show uptake is near 100 percent across the board.

The data comes from Sustainability and Transformation Partnerships (STPs) and Integrated Care Systems (ICS) scattered across the country.

The groups divided the results into four categories by age and region, focusing on the UK's most vulnerable population cohorts.

Each category is now nearing 100 percent total single-dose coverage.

Vaccinators have covered a total of 94.9 percent of the most vulnerable cohort; those aged 80 and over.

Uptake in this category is near-universally above 90 percent, with few outliers.

For example, Shropshire and Telford and Wrekin has the highest uptake rate of 100 percent.

But the East London Health and Care Partnership is trailing behind the other ICS and STPs, with just 79.6 percent.

Health officials have had the most success with the 75 to 79 category, the second most vulnerable.

The average in this cohort is 100 percent, with most partnerships reporting full coverage.

Other single-dose rates range from 85.1 percent to 99.8 percent.

Those aged 70 to 74 have also jumped at the chance to have a jab, with 95.4 percent having had their first dose.

Every ICS and STP in this category has so far reported an uptake rate of over 80 percent.

The 65 to 69 bracket, on the other hand, is lagging as the least vaccinated.

Roughly 85.4 percent of this cohort has had their first jab as they only recently became eligible.

The same data also reveals which parts of England have the highest uptake rates.

They show London trailing far behind the rest of the country, with an uptake rate of just 8.11 percent.

The northwest is the second least covered, with 12.99 percent of first doses administered.

The most vaccinated areas are the Midlands (14.12 percent), Southeast (14.63 percent), North and East Yorkshire (14.96 percent), East of England (15.75 percent) and the South West (17.41 percent).
