NCIS: New Orleans spoilers follow.

NCIS: New Orleans is coming to an end in May, but before it says its final goodbyes, it will be welcoming back a familiar face.

Actress Callie Thorne will be returning to the crime drama as Sasha Broussard, and it seems she'll have some news that will stun newly-engaged Special Agent Dwayne Pride (Scott Bakula).

Sasha first made an appearance in season one as an ex-member of the New Orleans Broussard crime syndicate, though she claimed she was trying to disassociate herself from her family.

But even though she gained the trust of Pride, it eventually became clear that she was fooling him all along and her actions landed her in prison. However, in last season's 'A Changed Woman', she secured an early release after sharing important intel with him.

According to TVLine, Sacha is now coming back once season seven resumes later this month, and she'll drop a bombshell on Pride that could change his life forever.

Last month, CBS confirmed that NCIS: New Orleans will be ending after seven years on the air.

In a statement, CBS Entertainment president Kelly Kahl said: "From the start, NCIS: New Orleans was able to distinguish itself with its New Orleans authenticity.

"From the colours and music to the vibrancy and stories you can only find in the Big Easy. Thanks to the amazing talents of the producers, writers, cast and crew, NOLA has played a key role on our schedule."

Kahl continued: "We're pleased to give it a big send-off and that viewers will have the opportunity to say goodbye to their favourite characters as the final season wraps."

Agent Pride actor Bakula added: "Sad to end our love affair with this phenomenal city but so grateful for all the friends we made along the way. I will miss the music. Big thank you to CBS for seven years."

NCIS: New Orleans resumes its seventh and final season on Sunday, March 21 on CBS in the US.
