Former TOWIE star Lucy Mecklenburgh has revealed she's not ready to stop breastfeeding her one year old son, Roman yet.
The star posted to Instagram that her son will turn one on Sunday which will also "mark one year of breastfeeding" - something Lucy says she's "really proud of."
The 29-year-old reality star opened up to her followers about the decision on Tuesday evening. "I've decided not to just stop breastfeeding at 12 months," she revealed. "Instead, I'm just going to get Roman used to a little bottle of an unsweetened soya milk alternative here and there."
Lucy continued: "I'm not a lactation consultant - just a mum following her gut instinct and sharing my breastfeeding journey."

Lucy's journey hasn't been without struggle. In an Instagram post recently, the star spoke about the "major obstacles" that stood in her way.
She wrote: "Even with major obstacles like severe posterior tongue tie & a CMPA (cow's milk allergy) being diagnosed at 10 weeks and many long tearful nights, I'm so glad I persevered."
Lucy continued: "CMPA made me feel trapped. I was so relieved to have found the reason Roman was so unwell and unhappy but it also felt like a HUGE responsibility on me.

"I gave him 1oz of neocate amino acid formula as I wanted the reassurance that if I needed to there was an alternative way to feed him. He was soooo ill and I felt this overwhelming sense of pressure." [sic]
It was at that point that Lucy "accepted" she was going to attempt one year before slowly moving Roman on to a plant based milk.
"I read something I can't remember where but it said don't offer but don't refuse," explained Lucy. "If Roman wants breast milk then I'll feed him, but I'm trying to get him used to a bottle of soya milk before bed. He still loves the morning feed and I really enjoy it too."

Having said that, Lucy did reveal that her fiancé Ryan Thomas will give him a bottle of soya milk and breakfast if she's "super tired."
To help with her breastfeeding journey, Lucy revealed that she "built up a small milk stash in the freezer for emergencies." The reality star admitted that doing this made her feel "more relaxed" and that "breastfeeding became easier, more manageable and actually quite enjoyable."
Roman is Lucy and Ryan's first child and he will turn one on 7 March.
