A largely virtual red carpet didn't stop celebrities from showing off their fashion choices at this year's Golden Globes.

On Sunday, the delayed awards season kicked off with the 78th annual Globes, with nominees and other notable names appearing via Zoom or Instagram dressed in black tie.

While we don't expect to see the same amount of gowns and tuxedos at this year's awards, the celebs who have turned out have not disappointed.

From Elle Fanning to Margot Robbie, these are the best-dressed attendees at this year's Golden Globes.

The Wolf of Wall Street star, who will be one of the night's presenters, wore a patterned Chanel dress on the red carpet, which she paired with a Gucci belt and a black Chanel purse.

Amanda Seyfried

Seyfried appeared virtually in a coral Oscar de la Renta gown with silk flower detailing. She accessorised the look with diamond drop earrings and a diamond necklace.

Elle Fanning

Fanning also dressed up for the event, sharing a photo of herself on Instagram in a blue silk dress by Gucci.

"Dressed up for a night in for the @goldenglobes," the actress wrote.

Sarah Hyland

The Modern Family star opted for an entirely red outfit for Sunday's event, showing off red hair with a matching off-the-shoulder ball gown in the same shade and dangling earrings.

Laverne Cox

Cox appeared virtually in a red gown with statement sleeves and an updo. The actress showed off the look in front of a mirror so the back of her outfit could also be seen by viewers at home.

Emma Corrin

The Crown actress opted for a beige suit and pale blue shirt for the awards show, with a remote photo taken of Corrin showing her posing with confetti-filled balloons.

Corrin paired the outfit with high-topped white sneakers.

Angela Bassett

Bassett, who starred in Pixar's Soul, which is up for Best Animated Motion Picture, chose a purple gown with feather detailing for her virtual red carpet look.

Jared Leto

Leto explained that he wasn't going to let the virtual awards keep him from dressing up on his social media accounts, where he shared a photo of himself wearing a black knit turtleneck.

"Just because we're doing the Golden Globes from home this year doesn't mean I couldn't get all dressed up for the camera," he wrote.

Laura Dern

The Big Little Lies star opted for a black pantsuit with satin detailing for the Golden Globes red carpet. She paired the look with red lipstick and black studded heels.

Haddish showed off her strapless gold sequin dress on Instagram Stories, where she posted a clip of herself walking down a hallway ahead of the awards.

The Girl's Trip actress complemented the gold gown with gold earrings and a blonde buzz cut.

Maya Rudolph

Rudolph also chose red for this year's awards, showing up on the red carpet in a white flower-patterned red dress, which she paired with white sandals.
