Queen Elizabeth, seen for the first time since her husband Prince Philip's hospitalization, said receiving her COVID-19 vaccine was a piece of cake.

"As far as I can make out, it was quite harmless," the 94-year-old monarch said on a video call with health officials leading the vaccine roll-out across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

"It was very quick. I've had lots of letters from people who've been very surprised by how easy it was to get the vaccine. And the jab, it didn't hurt at all," she said in the video released Thursday night.

"I think the other thing is that it is obviously difficult for people if they've never had a vaccine, (but) they ought to think about other people rather than themselves," she said.

"Once you've had the vaccine, you have a feeling of, you know, you're protected, which is I think is very important," she said.

The queen and Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, received their COVID vaccines last month, the palace previously confirmed.

Philip, 99, has been in the hospital "for observation and rest" since Feb. 16 due to an infection that's not COVID-related, multiple outlets have reported.

"Yes, he's OK," grandson Prince William told reporters during a visit to a vaccination site this week. "They're keeping an eye on him."
