Rafa Benitez would love the opportunity to return to Liverpool, according to a Spanish football expert.
Benitez is out of work after departing Chinese club Dalian Pro earlier this year and there is plenty of speculation over where the former Liverpool boss will go to next.
He has been linked with the newly-vacated Celtic post after Neil Lennon's departure earlier today.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Spanish football expert Guillem Balague played down any prospect of Benitez returning to Anfield in the short-term due to the presence of Jurgen Klopp.
Yet he said that Benitez still has a desire to manage the Reds once more.
"There is a feeling of unfinished business with Rafa and Liverpool, I've always said that," Balague said.
"Rafa would love to be the Liverpool manager at some point. Maybe in a time of crisis, proper crisis, not what's happening now.
"Maybe in a time where there's a need for a strong personality to steady a ship. But right now in the way that the owners are behaving and Klopp and everything, that situation doesn't exist.
"How can we think that Klopp has reached the end of an era? Look at the bigger picture, how can anyone suggest that?
"It's laughable. It's stupid and absurd to be talking about a future without Klopp."
Benitez's last job in England was at Newcastle United, but it ended after he failed to agree a new contract with controversial Magpies owner Mike Ashley.
Balague says there is currently no prospect of a return to Newcastle for the 60-year-old.
He asked: "Is there a project with Mike Ashley, is there a plan? Is there an intention to actually spend money on the academy, and the facilities and in the squad?"
"If the answer's no, then you've got the answer for Rafa if he was ever approached again. But he hasn't and it is a no.
"It's amazing to think that somebody of his calibre doesn't have a team but it happens. He'll have to wait for his moment."
