His late mother Jade Goody was one of the most iconic reality stars of her generation.

But in a new interview, Bobby Brazier's father Jeff Brazier - whose career also started out on reality television - has admitted that he doesn't want his son to appear on reality shows like Love Island.

The former semi-professional footballer, 41, confessed that he would prefer the model, 17, to focus on his career and has told him: 'Back yourself and ignore the offers!'

Jeff, who had sons Bobby and Freddie, 16, with Big Brother star Jade, has urged his teenage boys to be known for a 'talent, skill or something they've trained in,' rather than being famous for being famous.

Bobby is signed to Unsigned Group and has begun making a name for himself at fashion weeks around the world, having already modelled for the likes of Dolce & Gabbana.

Asked how he'd react if producers from the likes of ITV2's Love Island approached Bobby when he turns 18, Jeff revealed he's already spoken to his son 'so many times' about the prospect of becoming a reality star, and admitted: 'It would be scary.'

Jeff told The Sun: 'My thing to him is, "You can't do both. So which do you want to do?" Are you going to show some patience, back yourself and ignore the offers that you are inevitably going to get?'

'Have I ever had a conversation with Bobby about what he's going to do and completely fretted about the fact he might experience anything like what myself or his mum has done? Yeah. I've spent quite a lot of time worrying about that.'

Jeff explained that if going on reality television was his son's 'only option', then he wouldn't be opposed to the idea at all.

But the former Dancing on Ice star made it clear that since Bobby has already begun carving out a successful modelling career, he would prefer for his son to continue to follow that path.

Although a reality star himself, Jeff insisted: 'I've always tried to impose on them [his children] that if they're going to be known for something, let it be a talent, a skill, something you've trained in.

'Some people might feel that sounds quite ironic, me saying that. I'm very grateful for my life, my life experiences and career, but there are a lot of difficulties attached to being known in a certain way and we always want our children to avoid pain, obviously.'

Jeff also insisted that, although children look at becoming an influencer as being their ultimate goal, it's actually 'a lot of hard work' and comes with being subjected to abuse from trolls.
