Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers NFL star Vincent Jackson has been found dead in a Florida hotel, aged 38.
Jackson had checked into Homewood Suites in Brandon, Florida on January 11 and had been staying at the hotel since that date.
His family reported him missing on February 10 but, after police spoke with him at the hotel and his well-being was assessed, the missing person case was cancelled.
He was found dead by a housekeeper on Monday at around 11.30am with no apparent signs of trauma.
Jackson's death is under investigation by the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.

Wide receiver Jackson played 12 seasons in the NFL, seven with the San Diego Chargers between 2005 and 2011 and five with the Bucs from 2012 to 2016.
He was drafted 61st in the 2005 NFL draft, being selected in the second round by the Chargers.
In total, he played 155 matches and scored 57 touchdowns.
