Aston Villa fans have been reacting to reports that Ross Barkley will cost them £40 million if they wish to make his loan move from Chelsea permanent in the summer.
Barkley has been on loan at Villa since September and has scored four goals in his time at Villa having missed a batch of games over the New Year because of a hamstring injury.
The England international's contribution has been timely, with two of the 27 year-old's goals winners in games at Leicester City and Southampton.

However, he missed seven games through a hamstring injury from the end of November to New Year's Day.
With the arrival of Morgan Sanson for £14m from Marseille and Conor Hourihane's fine form in the Championship - the Republic of Ireland international expected back at Villa Park in the summer - there could be a scenario where Barkley's temporary stay is not turned into a permanent one.
And some Villa fans think a move should not be made for £40m under any circumstance - especially given Chelsea only paid £15m for him back in 2018 - and think around £25m may be more palatable.
"Keep him for £40m," one said. "His injury record isn't great. I'd pay £25m at best and that's an inflated price because he is English."
"If they want £40m leave him, £25m max - end of," said another.
A third supporter said: "£25m max - he is not consistent enough."
"Being realistic, he isn't near that level so surely £25m would be more than a fair price," says another.
A fifth fan said: "Wow! Way too high a price for him - he is injury prone, £20-25m is pushing it."
"He isn't worth that," another said. "I want him to stay but wouldn't pay above £25m."
