Georgia Toffolo joins clap in honour of Captain Sir Tom Moore

Georgia Toffolo joined millions across the country as she clapped for Captain Sir Tom Moore on Wednesday evening after his death aged 100 on Tuesday.

The Made In Chelsea star, 26, looked in good spirits as she saluted the man who raised more than £32million for the NHS by walking 100 laps of his garden before his milestone birthday.

Georgia was deeply moved by Captain Tom's campaign and has set up a GoFundMe to raise £10,000 for the Royal British Legion in memory of him.

The star cut a casual figure as she stood in the door of her home with a pan and wooden spoon to join in the clap.  

Georgia sported a grey top with black leggings and a pair of blue socks as she joined her neighbours for the heartwarming event.

The TV personality took to her Instagram to let fans know about her fundraising effort, saying she kicked it off with £5,000.

She wrote: 'Let's continue what Captain Tom started! I've donated half of the £10k target so we're on the home straight now!

Georgia's fundraising has exceeded her expectations as she has already raised £14,794 at the time of writing. 

The GoFundMe page reads: 'In memory of Captain Sir Tom Moore (1920 - 2021).

'The Royal British Legion provides practical help, advice and support to the Armed Forces community all year round, they help serving members of the Armed Forces, ex-Service men and women, their carers and families.'

It comes after Good Morning Britain paid an emotional tribute to Captain Tom on Wednesday's show. 

The show opened with Piers Morgan, 55, noting how Captain Tom, who died in hospital on Tuesday aged 100 after contracting pneumonia and testing positive for Covid-19, put the 'great in Great Britain' and inspired the nation.  

Opening the tribute that captured viewers' hearts, Piers started by stating: 'Captain Tom inspired us all and this morning our show is dedicated to him.'

Susanna continued: 'He put the great into Great Britain. Today we remember the courage and determination of a man who captured the hearts of young and old. From humble beginnings, the war veteran that became a symbol of hope'.

Piers said: 'A shining light in the darkest of times. We celebrate this remarkable man's remarkable life', while Susanna, 50, added: 'I's our honour to be able to do so.'
