Gedson Fernandes leaves Tottenham early as Benfica recall midfielder ahead of Galatasaray switch

Gedson Fernandes has been recalled from his loan spell at Tottenham.

Spurs confirmed on transfer deadline day that the Portuguese midfielder would be returning to parent club Benfica after only 12 months of a planned 18-month stay in north London.

Gedson is now expected to be sent straight back out on loan to Turkish giants Galatasaray.
