Real Madrid-Herbalife Gran Canaria: all eyes on completing a perfect week

It's the final game in January and also the last in what has been a perfect week for Real Madrid to this point after coming out on top in both of their Euroleague encounters in the double-header with Panathinaikos (76-66) and Alba Berlin (63-72). Today, they welcome Herbalife Gran Canaria in the League, where they sit top of the table with 17 wins in 18 games, and remain unbeaten at the start of 2021.

The meeting with the Gran Canarian side is sure to be another tough test, both physically and mentally, in what is proving a relentless schedule which will see Laso's men face a further three games next week ahead of the Copa del Rey. Madrid have won all three of their league meetings in 2021 and sit one win ahead of the second-placed team having played two games less (postponed matches against UCAM Murcia and Obradoiro). Today's opposition have lost their last two outings, against Iberostar Tenerife and Urbas Fuenlabrada, to sit 13th in the table with 7 wins from 20 games.
