Amad Diallo is quickly making an impression on his new Manchester United team-mates - with Mason Greenwood describing his skills as "wonderful".

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is preparing to unleash his new signing, having identified the 18-year-old as a potential solution to the Red Devils' right-wing problem.

The manager this week said Diallo would soon be ready to join his first-team squad after arriving from Atalanta earlier this month.

That will pit the youngster in direct competition with Greenwood, who has been used on the right as well as up front this season.

But the United man is not shying away from the competition - and predicted it wouldn't be long before fans see Diallo in action.

"We've got a new player Amad that's come in, he's a wonderful technical player so I'm sure we'll be seeing a lot of him soon," said Greenwood in an interview which went viral on Twitter.

While Diallo is only 18, he is just 10 months younger than Greenwood, who enjoyed a breakthrough campaign at United last season.

And Solskjaer believes the Ivorian can be the answer to United's right-wing question - which led to a fruitless summer-long chase of Jadon Sancho last year.

"That's his preferred position," he said. "He is good at finding space, he can go inside and outside and he will get the time to prove that he is the one.

"Along the way we have got Mason, Marcus [Rashford], Daniel [James], Juan [Mata] and Paul [Pogba] has played there, so we have options but I think when you look at the squad and you look at Amad and you think, yeah, that's probably where we will work to fit you in."

Earlier this week, Solskjaer said of Diallo: "It won't be long until I can bring him into the squad."

The Red Devils will look to return to the top of the Premier League when they welcome Sheffield United to Old Trafford on Wednesday night.
