Kevin's journey from Vancouver to Los Angeles is going to take a little longer than expected.
Although it just returned to the air two weeks ago, This Is Us is going off the air for two weeks, according to the network.
Creator Dan Fogelman tweeted on Tuesday: "No new episode of #ThisIsUs tonight - COVID-related production delays in LA have forced us to delay a few weeks. But the next few are big ones, and we are close, so we hope you'll hang in there with us. Sorry!"
The network and This Is Us Twitter account subsequently confirmed the delay as well as a Feb. 2 return. The hit family drama was initially slated to return to production in early January, but the major Hollywood studios extended the production hiatus over the holidays as COVID-19 surged throughout the country, especially Los Angeles County.
It's been an erratic airing schedule for This Is Us in season 5 thus far. Production was delayed over the summer due to the pandemic, forcing the show's fifth season to debut later than normal. The Oct. 27 premiere featured two episodes, and NBC aired two more episodes over the following two weeks before giving the show a seven-week hiatus. New episodes then aired on Jan. 5 and Jan. 12.
