Aston Villa continue to be linked with a move for Galatasaray defender Christian Luyindama.
Luyindama was mentioned as a possible transfer target for Villa as far back as May, now Premier League rivals Everton have been credited with an interest in the DR Congo international.
Reports in the Turkish press are claiming that Gala will accept a bid of around ?10 million, which works out at almost £9m.
Turkish outlet Sampiy, via Sport Witness , say Luyindama has been put on his club's transfer list and that they are waiting for an offer for the player.
Gala are hoping to receive an offer that would enable them to conduct their own transfer business.
Luyindama has made 17 appearances in all competitions this season having recovered from a ruptured cruciate ligament injury suffered last campaign.
He moved to Turkey in 2019, making a loan move from Standard Liege to Galatasaray permanent.
An 11-cap international, he is a right-footed centre-back and has experience in the Champions League.
Villa are well-stocked at centre-back, with Kortney Hause backing up first-choice pair Tyrone Mings and Ezri Konsa.
With Bjorn Engels heavily linked with a return to Belgium, though, a centre-back could be on the agenda in the transfer window.
Villa head coach Dean Smith has spoken about how he does not expect much business to be done this month, but the coronavirus outbreak at Bodymoor Heath could alter his plans depending on the condition of his players.
"We are looking at it in general in terms of whether there is anything we need to do," he said.
"We are certainly not desperate in terms of players we need to bring in or go out. We have our finger on the pulse but I don't envision us doing an awful lot, to be honest.
"January windows are always difficult and yes, it is going to be a pragmatic approach. We have a number of games until we get to January and a number of games in January. We will see how it goes but our sporting director Johan Lange certainly has his finger on the pulse."
