This is the adorable moment an unusual pair struck up a friendship as an excited dog licks the face of a cow.

Footage shows Pablo, the golden retriever, recognising a cow in the village of Maguiresbridge in County Fermanagh, during the summer.

The excited dog sits on a wall and licks the face of a cow standing beside him as the unlikely pair seem pleased to see each other.

Another dog, named Archie, jumps up to see the pair, who are rubbing noses and seem happy to be reunited.

Two-year-old Pablo befriended the calf six months ago and the two recognised each other again when out on a walk.

The video says: 'They first met about six months ago. Then he went away for three months.

'Then the calf came back and they remembered each other.'

The adorable video was uploaded by @blainaidmay, who said: 'The cow lives just down the road from us and we pass it every day when we're walking to the shop.

'Pablo loves to jump up on the wall and look at the cows and last year he met that cow when he was just a calf.

'The cow came over to the wall where Pablo would be and they got closer and started to recognise each other and became friends.
