Running out of things to watch? Fear not - as there's plenty of content to go around. There are numerous new shows landing on UK paid-for streaming service Britbox this month, which is filled with old favourites, films and series from BBC, ITV and Channel 4 that you may have missed the first time around.

This is England

Shane Meadows' gritty film about life in Thatcher's Britain in the 1980s is a powerful must-watch - and the starting point for the TV series it spawned afterwards. Thomas Turgoose, Vicky McClure and Stephen Graham star. WATCH NOW

Dog Soldiers

Soldiers ravaged by wild beasts in the Scottish Highlights (and those trying to escape those wild beasts) are the order of the day in this low budget comedy action horror movie. WATCH NOW

Topsy Turvy

Mike Leigh directs this witty film about light opera legends William Gilbert (Jim Broadbent) and Arthur Sullivan (Allan Corduner) in 1880s London. Lesley Manville also stars. WATCH NOW

The Winter Guest

Six years before he broke her heart in Love Actually, the wonderful and much missed Alan Rickman directed and co-wrote this drama starring Emma Thompson. She and her real life mother Phyllida Law play a mother and daughter attempting to repair their relationship after a death in the family. WATCH NOW

Go retro with this excellent batch of kid's TV favourites from back in the day. The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes

Another one! Revisit Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock Holmes and Martin Freeman as Doctor Watson in this gripping series by Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss. 21 January

All Creatures Great and Small

The original adaptation of James Herriot's autobiographical works come to Britbox with all 91 episodes which first aired on the BBC in the 1980s. The drama is set in a Yorkshire veterinary practice in the 1930s. 28 January

Decline and Fall

This three part comedy based on the novel of the same name by Evelyn Waugh is sure to raise a laugh. Paul Pennyfeather (Jack Whitehall) is expelled from Oxford University, a disastrous chain of events ensue. Eva Longoria, Stephen Graham and David Suchet, also star. 28 January

River

This star-studded drama centres on Detective Inspector John River (played by Stellan Skarsgard), who despite being haunted by images of his recently dead partner Jackie (Nicola Walker), continues to work. His boss, played by Lesley Manville, grows concerned by his state of mind. 28 January

Gok Wan: Made in China

The presenter visits his ancestral home and delves into a world of mass production, seeing the factories that supply the West. 28 January

Scarborough

From the creator of Benidorm, this seaside-set series follows reunited couple Mike (Jason Manford) and Karen (Catherine Tyldesley) as they navigate life and love and everything in between. They're making another go of their relationship, but can it last? 28 January
