The star of this week's Historic Goals is Raúl. The Spanish forward made his Real Madrid first-team debut in October 1994 after coming through the academy ranks. His standout quality was his eye for goal and he would go on to make more appearances for the club than any other player in history and become the second all-time top scorer. He is also the current Real Madrid Castilla coach.

In the 2000/01 campaign, Real Madrid visited El Sadar on LaLiga matchday 13 and Raúl netted the Whites' opening goal with a shot across goal. Morientes picked up the ball with his back to goal and laid the ball to the onrushing forward. Raúl controlled it and shot from the edge of the box to level a game Real Madrid would go on to win 2-3. Raúl played in the Whites' colours for 741 games, scoring 323 goals. He also lifted 16 titles: 3 European Cups, 2 Intercontinental Cups, 1 European Super Cup, 6 LaLiga titles and 4 Spanish Super Cups.
