Bernhard Langer has won the Masters twice, taking home the green jacket in 1985 and again in 1993.

He's also the all-time leading money winner on the PGA Tour Champions with more than $30 million thanks in large part to his 41 tournament titles.

But he considers the PNC Championship to be just as big a deal.

"As you probably know by now, it's one of my favorite events," Langer said Friday at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club Orlando after the second of two pro-ams this week. "I look forward to playing the majors every year and this is right up there with any tournament, just because it's about family and it's about being with your kids, being able to show my kids what I do for a living."

The event was for years billed the Father-Son Challenge but it's now officially the PNC Championship. There are not only fathers and sons playing - this year there's a father-in-law, a stepson, a grandson as well as one of the best LPGA players of all time in Annika Sorenstam, who's playing with her dad. She fits the bill because the main entry requirement is being a major champion.

Langer not only really likes the tournament, he's also played well in it. He and his son Jason won it in 2019. They also paired up to win it in 2015. In 2005 and 2006, he and son Stefan went back-to-back.

This time around, it's his daughter Jackie playing as his partner.

"Like my dad said, it's an honor to be here," she said. "It's amazing just to be with all the people that he gets to work with, the legends. Getting together like this is always special."

Jackie wasn't originally set to participate this time around. A mother of an eight-month old, she is filling in for Jason, who recently injured his back playing tennis. If Jason were healthy, he'd be in Orlando with dad because of a family rule.

"I have four kids and they've all played in this tournament. We made a deal some years back," Bernhard said. "If for some reason we win, that child gets the chance to defend.

"That's why Jackie's here and I'm thrilled that we can be out there to do this together."

Growing up the child of a famous golfer was different, Jackie said.

"It has its pros and cons but I didn't know anything different," she said. "It was awesome to see Dad at home and then out in the spotlight and he's the same guy. He's a hard worker, he's humble. It's tough in the sense that we might not get a normal so-called childhood but we had so many benefits of travel and seeing the world."

And now she gets to tee it up with her dad. Team Langer is paired with Team Daly (John and son Little John) for the first round on Saturday. The two-day event concludes on Sunday perhaps with a third Langer pairing posing for photos in the winner's circle.
