Kate Waterhouse and her former rugby league player husband Luke Ricketson have purchased an incredible $17.8million mansion in Sydney's Balmoral.

According to Domain, the deal was an off-market purchase by the couple from Ling Zijian.

The former owner purchased the stunning property for $5.3million back in 2003.

The Sydney mansion features five spacious bedrooms and it has incredible views of Balmoral Beach.

The home is also located near the Lower North Shore's most popular restaurants and eateries.

Kate's brother Tom Waterhouse also owns a $13million beachfront house in the same suburb.

Meanwhile, the racing heiress and the former sports star tied the knot in Sicily, Italy on June 28, 2012.

Popsugar reported at the time that Kate wore a Vera Wang dress, and the newlyweds were surrounded by 80 guests on their big day.

The couple share two young daughters: Sophia Edie, six and Grace Gabrie, three.

Kate is the first daughter of Australia's legendary horse trainer Gai Waterhouse.

Gai won her first Melbourne Cup in 2013 with her horse Fiorente and became the first Australian woman to train a winner of that race.

She was inducted into the Australian Racing Hall of Fame in 2007, and is often referred to as 'first lady of Australian racing'.
