If you realize you're missing a key ingredient on Christmas morning, check this list of grocery stores open on Christmas Day - twice - before you race to your local store.

Since hours vary depending on location, call your local market before you reach for your keys. Even if your local supermarket is always open on Christmas, they may be operating under different hours due to the COVID-19 pandemic (Whenever you head to the store, make sure you're wearing a face mask and practicing social distancing). If you happen to realize you're missing an ingredient on Christmas Eve, make a quick stop at one of these major chains including Walmart and Target. Plus, Amazon Prime members can get last-minute items delivered to their doorstep thanks to Prime Now. That means you can get everything you need to make a delicious Christmas dinner without sacrificing your cookie decorating time. Or, if you want celebrate Christmas by taking a break from cooking, these restaurants are open too.

• Albertsons: Most locations are open from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.
• Bristol Farms: Several locations in southern California were open last year. Hours may vary.
• Cumberland Farms: Most locations open at 7 a.m.
• Giant Food: Most stores are open from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.
• Morton Williams: The chain was open last year from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.
• Pavilions: Most stores were open last year from 6 a.m. until 10 p.m.
• Safeway: Most stores are open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. - but not all will be open, so check with your local branch.
• Vons: Several locations in southern California were open last year. Hours may vary.
• QuickChek: Most stores are open 24/7.
