Christie's is auctioning off artwork, homewares and jewelry owned by late New York City socialite, Nina Griscom.

Griscom died in January from Lou Gehrig's disease at the age 65, leaving behind a sizable collection of personal items.

Art and decorative objects from Griscom's plush Manhattan apartment will go under the hammer in a series of online sales from December 2-17.

Meanwhile, 35 pieces of jewelry loved and owned by the socialite will be sold at a live auction in the Big Apple, scheduled for December 8.

Included in the collection is a 15.02-carat emerald cut diamond ring which is expected to fetch up to $180,000.

'Nina Griscom was a true icon of American style,' Daphne Lingon, head of jewelry at Christie's Americas, told Barrons.

'Her jewelry collection spans timeless classics through to iconic Art Deco designs presented alongside bold and brilliant emeralds featured in our Magnificent Jewels sale'.

Griscom - who was the stepdaughter of prominent investment banker and diplomat Felix George Rohatyn - was one of America's most prominent fashion models in the 1970s and 80s.

She later went on to host entertainment news programs on HBO and a restaurant review series on the food network.

Away from the cameras, Griscom was a keen collector of art, known for her immaculate taste.

Among the works set to auctioned off is a Ferdinando Galli Bibiena drawing dating back to the early 18th Century.

Meanwhile, original sketches from iconic American fashion designer Bill Blass, who passed away in 2002, are also up for sale.

One-of-a king trinkets, including a carved alabaster model of the Arch of Constantine, are also garnering buzz.

Bids on that item are expected to start at $3,000.

Meanwhile, two carved marble portrait reliefs dating back to the 19th century  will also go under the hammer.

Lovers of antique furnishings and silverware will also be in for a treat.

Two French mahogany and ormalu mounted fauteuils dating back to 1810 will no doubt fetch competitive bids.

Elsewhere, a Danish silverware set from Mark of Georg Jensen could fetch north of $10,000.
