When you're running to catch a flight, every second matters and airport security is where you'll lose the most time. Not only do you have to wait for the people in front of you to trudge along, you've got to remove outerwear, empty your pockets of change, and separate out all your Dopp kit products while being rushed by the person behind. And once you've made your flight and arrive at your destination, you'll want something easy to slide on and off as you head down to the hotel lobby or out to the pool.

For the sake of time and comfort, invest in a pair of sturdy slip-on shoes to avoid handling laces and buckles. When selecting a slip-on shoe, be discerning. Packing shoes can be tricky, since they tend to be the bulkiest objects. You'll want a pair that are comfortable enough for the hike through the airport, versatile enough to be one of your travel staples, and stylish enough to justify their space in your luggage, if you choose not to wear them through the TSA line. Keep reading for 13 of our favorite no-fuss men's slip-on shoes-from classic Vans to our go-to Chelsea boots.

Salomon S/Lab XT-6 Softground

$220.00, Salomon

BUY NOW

Climbing shoes-and Salomon's specifically-remain one of the hottest footwear trends: just ask Rihanna and Dev Hynes, who both appear to live in theirs on the road. There are a number of reasons we love Salomons for airport security. They're incredibly cushioned, slip on and off easily thanks to the brand's patented Quicklace system, and because they're built for summiting mountains, they're more than equipped for whatever you wish to throw at them on the other side.

Strongly recommended for all flights to Hawaii or the West Coast, there's not much more that needs to be said about these classic skater shoes. Clarks Wallabee Boot

$160.00, Clarks

BUY NOW

Unchanged for decades for a reason, Clarks' historic Wallabees live at the intersection of comfort and style, with a quality leather build that guarantees they'll only fit you better with time. The slip-on boot version is great for airports and planes, especially: The leather keeps toes warm, and the high ankle coverage makes an overly air-conditioned airplane cabin a non-issue.

Blundstone Chelsea Boot

$195.00, Nordstrom

BUY NOW

Blundstone boots can handle anything, from a sudden downpour in Copenhagen or Seattle to a run through the terminal to make your flight. The wide, rounded toe on the standard version previously meant the only thing Blundstones couldn't handle a formal event, but the Chelsea Boot solves all of that, with a shape that transitions seamlessly, wherever you're headed. The Blundstones also gain added points, like the Clarks, for their ankle protection.

Sebago 'Classic Dan' Penny Loafer

$175.00, Zappos

BUY NOW

The shoes that say "I deserve to be in this airport lounge." The penny loafer is a classic men's shoe, that once broken in really isn't all that different from a Vans slip on when it comes to comfort and ease of use. Sebago has been the go-to penny brand in the U.S. for decades, offering the lowest price you can pay for a pair that will still last you more than 10 years. Oh, and there's an added bonus: wearing them as your flight shoe means there's no need for extra dress shoes to take up precious packing space.
