Emma Roberts Reveals She Blocked Her Own Mother On Instagram For Leaking News To The Press

Emma Roberts' rumoured pregnancy was all anyone could talk about when speculation began, but just like Sophie Turner, the actress was staying 'mum' on the subject.

But speaking of 'mum', it was actually her mother, Kelly Cunningham that put the rumours to bed once and for all by confirming via social media that her daughter was indeed expecting her first child with partner Garrett Hedlund.

When fans flocked to Cunningham's Instagram to ask about the rumours, she responded by confirming that they were true.

But it looks like this confirmation was not given the green-light by Roberts, who has now revealed that she was not happy with her mother for beating the couple to the punch.

During an appearance on The Tonight Show, the 29-year-old revealed that it all began when she bought her mum her very first Apple iPhone.

"I was like, 'Now we can FaceTime and iMessage.' And it was just such a love fest," she explained.

However, she came to regret the decision, "It was the worst thing I ever did."

"It was a disaster," she said about the news reveal.

"And I found it all out on a plane. So, I couldn't get to her. Like, I couldn't call her or attack her. I could just iMessage with her and DM her and ask her to please stop!"

"When I said to her, 'Mum, you revealed my pregnancy,' she goes, 'Emma, you announced it,'" she said.

"I said, 'No, I didn't. That was a tabloid.' And she's just like 'Oh, that wasn't clear'."

That's when the Holidate star took to extreme measures and blocked her own damn mum on Instagram.

"I blocked her at one point. It was my only weapon," she explained.

"She texted me at 2am, 'Queen, did you block me? :(' And I was like, 'Yes, I did block you'. Then I unblocked her."

Laughing about it now, she describes it as "an Instagram war with my mother that I never saw coming."

And the pair are all good now, even seeing it as "a good story to tell the baby," she said.
