As Storm winger Josh Addo-Carr prepares for a grand final, it has been suggested that his future may lie at Belmore, with the Canterbury Bulldogs reportedly the favourite to secure his signature for 2021 and beyond.

The NSW Blues and Kangaroos winger has been granted a release on compassionate grounds from the final year of his contract with the Storm, looking to move closer to his family in Sydney.

It was initially thought that he may link up with the Rabbitohs after they reportedly gave up their pursuit of teenage sensation Joseph Suaalii.

However, The Daily Telegraph has reported that the Bulldogs are the new favourites to sign the speedster, with reporter Phil 'Buzz' Rothfield suggesting that Bennett is against bringing in further outside backs.

"I think he's going to the Canterbury Bulldogs," Rothfield told Big Sports Breakfast.

"Wayne Bennett is on record stating that he's well off for wingers and outside backs.

"I don't think he's keen on the Wests Tigers so I think he'll be at the Bulldogs."

With the Storm preparing for their fourth grand final in six years, the 25-year-old confirmed that he has left all negotiations to his management, ensuring his focus is solely on Sunday.

"I made the decision to put all that stuff behind me and really focus on the finals series," he told The Sunday Footy Show.

"My manager and the Melbourne Storm are really working their backsides off to get this deal done.

"It is what it is at the moment and I'm just really focused on this game coming Sunday."
