University of Georgia doctoral student and political YouTube channel host Irami Osei-Frimpong joined Hill.TV to discuss perceptions of freedom, arguing that the liberal perspective has led to "bad governance."

"Liberals confuse freedom for flakiness," Osei-Frimpong said. "The problem with this sensibility is now it means that I do what I want, when I want, because I want, unbounded by convention, and if that's not the case, then I'm oppressed."

Osei-Frimpong argued that "the danger" with that mindset lies "in anti-politics" in which liberals do not "take any institution seriously."

"There's a way in which Democrats want to kind of shunt all of their responsibility for governing and politics and actually persuading people for what they want to do is right onto the courts so that they don't have to think about it," he said.

"If you're poor or a stigmatized population in the United States, by the time you're worried about the Supreme Court saving you, you've already lost," he said. "They don't have budgetary power and they don't have executive power."
