Trisha Goddard appeared in very good spirits as she prepared to jet home to the US on Thursday.

The TV star, 62, is heading back to America after filming Piers Morgan's Life Stories and a pilot chat show to replace The Jeremy Kyle Show.

Trisha flashed a broad smile as she pushed a trolley laden down with luggage through London's Heathrow airport.

The former Dancing On Ice contestant looked chic for her journey home, donning a thick wool black blazer with a striking gold pattern down one arm.

Beneath this she wore a beige co-ord, consisting of a cosy high neck jumper and matching loose-fitting trousers.

Trisha tucked her caramel tresses beneath a black beanie hat, while she donned minimal make-up for her travels.

Her good mood is no doubt in part due to a successful period of filming, which saw her sit down with broadcaster Piers, 55, to discuss her life and career on an upcoming episode Life Stories.

She is also said to have filmed a pilot episode for a rebooted version of her iconic talk show, which earlier this month was reported to be replacing the slot The Jeremy Kyle Show left on ITV.

Trisha's morning talk show aired on ITV between 1998 and 2004, before later moving to Channel 5.

The new show would mark a return to the UK for Trisha after she moved to the US in 2011 to launch her talk show Stateside, but it was axed by NBC after just two seasons.

A source close to Trisha confirmed the reports to MailOnline, after an insider told The Sun that Trisha was set to film a pilot, in the hope ITV bosses will place it in a coveted afternoon slot.

They said: 'It's being referred to as Talk to Trisha at the moment.

'But telly fans will recognise it for what it is - the old legendary show and her back together.'

MailOnline contacted representatives for ITV at the time for further comment.

The presenter surprised fans by making her TV comeback in January as a contestant on Dancing On Ice, but was the first celebrity skater to be eliminated.

Her original talk show focused on real-life subjects and light-hearted debates, but in later years sparked controversy for its including of dramatic confrontations between guests in light of US hit The Jerry Springer Show.

The series also saw the use of DNA and lie detector, and was the predecessor to the Jeremy Kyle Show, which took over the mid-morning slot in 2004 until it was axed in 2019 following the death of one of its guests.

Trisha moved the series from ITV to Channel 5 in 2005, where it continued to air for five years before being axed in 2010.
