© Goodwood Speed WeekYou can see Sixties F1 cars and prewar racers duke it out on the famed grounds of Goodwood.
Like everything else this year, Goodwood has had to adapt. For both safety and legal reasons, the packed-house Revival and Festival of Speed events were cancelled this year. That's sad news, but to make up for it, Goodwood put together a new event, SpeedWeek, which you can stream all weekend..
SpeedWeek combines elements of both the Festival of Speed hillclimb and the Goodwood Revival vintage races. Over the three-day event held from today, October 16, through October 18, you'll get a dose of supercar reveals, historic races, time trials, and even rally battles. All of this will be livestreamed here, along with pre-taped informational and celebratory segments.
Probably the best parts will be the 70 years of Formula 1 celebration and the rally, both of which will bring the all-time greats back to life. You'll get to see iconic F1 cars from the golden years of Maserati, Lotus, and McLaren all the way through the modern Brawn GP car. Plus, there's a massive wheel-to-wheel race between Sixties F1 cars, featuring these ultra-rare, historic cars absolutely sending it on the Goodwood circuit.
The SpeedWeek Super Special rally looks to be even better. It'll bring together a truly incredible collection of iconic cars from the sport. It'll start with Group 4 cars like the Lancia Stratos, Ford Escort RS2000, and Ferrari 308 GTB. Then on to Group B legends like the Lancia 037 and Delta S4, Audi Sport Quattro, and Peugeot 205 T16. From there you get to Group A, with the Delta Integrale, Subaru Impreza WRX, and Toyota Celica GT-Four. Finally Toyota, Ford, and Subaru will show off the modern metal with Toyota even doing an early preview of the GR Yaris that'll serve as the foundation of its 2021 car. It's a collection of metal you'll probably never see anywhere else, driven like it's stolen-exactly what Goodwood is about.
