Declan Gallagher hailed Scott McTominay 's leadership qualities as the Manchester United star talked him through Scotland's Nations League triumph.
Steve Clarke's side made it eight games unbeaten with a 1-0 win at Hampden despite missing the likes of Kieran Tierney and Andy Robertson.
And Gallagher feels that strength in depth, as well as the leadership skills of McTominay, stand Scotland in good stead.
The defender told Sky Sports: "Everybody that's come in has done brilliantly.
"Andy (Considine) has been brilliant, Coops (Liam Cooper) before that was brilliant so I think that everybody who comes into the squad is ready for it.
© SNS Group / SFA "That was Andy's first cap the other night and it looked as if he had 50 caps, he was unbelievable again tonight.
"Scotty on the right was brilliant, he just never stopped talking. So we've made a good partnership and I think that's why it works so well."
Scotland have now kept three clean sheets on the spin and Gallagher feels Clarke 's ideas are beginning to bear fruit.
© AFP via Getty Images He said: "For long periods of time we were backs against the wall but the Czech Republic are a really good team so we had to defend well.
"We did that and it's kept three clean sheets in the last three games so it's been great for us.
"I just think it's the hard work we're putting in on the training ground, we've changed the formation and the gaffer's worked hard on that with the coaching staff.
"So we work hard on it every day and I think being together as a tight unit makes a big difference.
"I like being the middle one to get the two outside ones running!
"It's a good system, I can play in a three or a four but it's really working and with three you get the extra security of having that extra man at the back with you.
"It's a hard shift for the midfield boys but it's working so we can't change it."
