Darren Fletcher wants to see Ole Gunnar Solskjaer appointed as Manchester United's permanent manager after overseeing six wins from six at the start of his Old Trafford tenure.
Solskjaer replaced Jose Mourinho on December 19 and Sunday's landmark win at Tottenham ensured the Norwegian became the first Reds manager in history to win their opening six games in charge.
The victory at Wembley saw Solskjaer outwit the favourite for the permanent United job, Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino, as Marcus Rashford's strike on the stroke of half-time went unanswered.
United are now just six points adrift of the Premier League's top four after a stunning display from David De Gea ensured the Reds cuts the arrears from 11 after Mourinho's final defeat in charge against Liverpool on December 16.
How Sir Alex Ferguson is helping Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Manchester United
And Fletcher believes Solskjaer is the perfect fit for Old Trafford.
"I would love to see it," Fletcher told the BBC's Match of the Day 2 programme.
"He's a Manchester United man he's got the club DNA in him.
"He's a massive player in Manchester United's history.
"You see him bringing Alex Ferguson back into the fold. It's amazing what he's done.
"I just hope he continues it for the rest of the season and the bandwagon builds and he gets the Manchester United job."
