Australian NBA star Ben Simmons has unleashed on his Philadelphia 76ers teammates after an embarrassing home loss to the Atlanta Hawks.
Simmons was excellent once again, finishing with 23 points, 10 rebounds and 15 assists on the night, good for his seventh triple-double of the season, but was furious at his side's lack of defensive intensity which resulted in the side dropping to 27-16.
"I think we're just too soft," Simmons told reporters after the game.
"Defensively we're not taking it personal enough when guys score on us, and it should be a pride thing.
"When somebody scores, you should be frustrated every time."
While the Sixers were missing All-Star big man Joel Embiid, they were shown no mercy by the home crowd as they were booed off the court after the loss to the 13-29 Hawks.
Simmons' star teammate Jimmy Butler tallied 30 points on the night, but converted just seven of his 21 field-goal attempts.

"I don't like the word soft," Butler told reporters.
"I just don't think we did what we were supposed to do.
"I don't think that anybody is soft, we just got beaten in every single aspect of the game."
The Sixers will look to get back in the winners column when they travel to New York to take on the Knicks on Monday morning AEDT.
